DEMODECOSIS AND ITS PHARMACOTHERAPY

Demodecosis is a disease caused by parasitic mites of the genus Demodex mites, which can lead to skin conditions such as rosacea, blepharitis, and various hyperproliferative processes of the ocular mucous membranes. This article describes the etiology, distribution, and the medications used in the treatment of demodecosis. In addition, the effects of medicinal plants used in its therapy are discussed. The article also highlights the effects and other pharmacological properties of bitter almond oil in the treatment of demodecosis.
