This paper mainly analyzes the errors in Chinese character writing in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, illustrates the vital role of Chinese character writing in language acquisition, and summarizes frequent writing mistakes made by learners. It sorts out the main categories of Chinese character writing errors, including wrong stroke order and unreasonable structural layout. Furthermore, it explores the root causes of such errors from three dimensions: linguistic habits, cultural differences and teaching modes. Analysis based on specific examples demonstrates the adverse impacts of writing errors on learners’ language proficiency. The research can assist teachers in addressing difficulties related to Chinese character writing, so as to improve teaching quality and learning efficiency.
