In this article, the lexicographic analysis of lexical units representing traditions in linguistics is studied. Customs and traditions are an important part of the language, through which the culture, history and social values of the people are reflected. In the article, these lexical units are analyzed on the basis of various dictionaries, in particular, explanatory, comparative and ethnolinguistic dictionaries, and their scope of meaning and possibilities of use are studied. In the course of the study, attention was paid to the lexical and semantic features of the lexical units representing tradition, and it was shown that they are inextricably linked with the socio-cultural heritage of the people.
