FORMATION OF THE SCHOOL OF SUFI STUDIES: NAJMIDDIN KOMILOV AND HIS SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE

This article analyzes the formation and development of the modern Uzbek scientific school of Sufi studies. The scientific activity of Professor Najmiddin Komilov, his main works in the field of Sufi studies and research methodology are studied in detail. The invaluable contribution of the scientist to the study of the history, philosophy and literature of Sufism during the еars of independence of Uzbekistan has been determined. The features of N. Komilov's school of Sufi studies, principles and methods of research, scientific activities of his students and followers are also covered in detail. The article indicates the main criteria for the scientist's activity as the founder of the scientific school of Sufi studies.
