The article presents the literature review on frequency, etiology, pathogenesis and surgical tactics for postoperative ventral hernias. Up-to-date international classification of postoperative ventral hernias, endoprosthesis, classical surgeries, and postoperative complications, reasons of unsatisfactory results are given here.
