This article provides a comparative analysis of the specific features of Dr. Nur al-Din 'Itr's work “Manhaj al-naqd fi 'ulum al-hadith” with other contemporary and classical works written in the discipline of “Manhaj fi 'ulum al-hadith.” The main objective of the article is to reveal Nur al-Din 'Itr's unique methodology in classifying the sciences of hadith, particularly his epistemological shift in consolidating the scattered 65 categories from classical works into 6 major fundamental sections (narrators, transmission, sanad, matn, acceptance/rejection, and joint sciences). Furthermore, the study justifies why the author prioritized certain topics (e.g., the science of narrators and transmission) and how he seamlessly integrated the criticism of sanad and matn, by comparing his structural framework with the tables of contents of books by other authors such as Sharaf al-Qudat, Muhammad Samahi, and Ali Nayif Buqai.
