FEATURES OF THE PROBATION INSTITUTION

Annotatsiya

In this article, the author considers the institution of probation from scientific and practical positions, which has recently become one of the most important participants in the process of resocialization and correction of criminals in Uzbekistan. In particular, the features of this institution, the legal basis for the formation of the probation service, and positive foreign experience in this area are studied in detail. The article notes that this institution has already begun to show its positive aspects, performing the functions of post-penitentiary socialization of convicts and control over the relevant categories of persons, at the same time it is indicated that some serious gaps and shortcomings in the legislation in practice have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the work of probation officers.
