This article is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the international legal aspects regulating relations connected with cultural property, with a particular focus on the issues of ownership rights. The paper examines key international documents in the field of cultural property protection, investigates the historical development of international legal regulation in this area, and analyzes modern approaches to the definition and classification of cultural property. Special attention is paid to the problems of ownership rights to cultural property, including issues of restitution and combating illicit trafficking. The article also highlights the role of international organizations in protecting cultural heritage and considers contemporary challenges and prospects for the development of international legal regulation in the sphere of cultural property protection.
