This article considers scientific and technological progress as an important factor in the formation and development of the modern world economy. New technologies and innovations simplify production processes, increase labor productivity, improve product quality, and strengthen international competitiveness. The main directions of scientific and technological progress, its impact on the global economic system, and future trends are analyzed. The role of technological progress in economic growth is also considered on the example of developed and developing countries.
