SPATIALLY ORIENTED CRIME PREVENTION: PATTERNS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BRITISH MODEL AND PROSPECTS FOR ITS APPLICATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

Annotatsiya

The article examines the development of spatially oriented crime prevention as a distinct area of criminological policy. Particular attention is paid to the experience of the United Kingdom, where approaches to crime prevention through the design and management of the urban environment have undergone legal, organizational, and practical development. The study aims to identify the key patterns underlying the formation of the British model and to determine the possibilities for applying its core principles within the crime prevention system of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Based on an analysis of legislation, scholarly literature, and crime prevention practices, five interrelated patterns are identified: the incorporation of spatial prevention into state crime prevention policy; the establishment of preventive functions in legislation and practice; cooperation among crime prevention actors; professional support for spatial crime prevention; and the participation of the public and local self-government bodies.
