Cardiovascular pathology is the main cause of death of patients on renalreplacement therapy. Calcification of the media of resistive vessels, without narrowing theirlumen, disrupts their function of maintaining blood pressure in the diastole, reducing –sometimes critically – blood flow to vital organs and, first of all, to the myocardium.
