This scientific paper examines the role of reading books in the acquisition of a foreign language. It provides an analysis of how consistent exposure to written texts contributes to the improvement of lexical knowledge, syntactic awareness, and overall language fluency. The study also highlights the importance of authentic input and contextualized grammar found in literary materials, which support long-term language retention. Furthermore, it emphasizes how reading fosters intercultural competence by introducing learners to cultural references, idiomatic expressions, and real-world language usage. The paper concludes that integrating reading into language learning curricula significantly enhances linguistic and communicative competence.
