Chemical factors include smoking tobacco, especially with a pipe and so-called "reverse smoking" - from the smoldering edge of a cigarette. Smoking electronic cigarettes has a slightly lesser effect on the development of the disease. When smoking, the oral mucosa is exposed not only to chemical compounds of nicotine resins, but also to extremely high temperatures. The temperature in the middle of a smoldering cigarette exceeds 800°C, and when smoke enters the oral cavity, it can rise to 150°C and higher.
