Annotatsiya
Morphological assessment of the sigmoid intestinal wall has emerged as a crucial diagnostic and research tool for understanding the pathogenesis of sigmoid elongation. Histopathological examination reveals significant alterations in the structural organization of the intestinal wall layers, including changes in the mucosa, submucosa, muscularis propria, and enteric nervous system. These morphological modifications may include mucosal hyperplasia, submucosal fibrosis, smooth muscle hypertrophy or atrophy, and alterations in the enteric ganglion cell distribution and morphology.
