Annotatsiya
This article is devoted to the issue of the disappearance of the internal form of a word, which occurs as a result of demotivation within the language system. The focus is placed on the interdependence between language, the collective memory of humanity, and the way people perceive reality. The study examines the factors leading to the weakening of the original connection between a word and its primordial meaning, as well as the influence of historical, cultural, and cognitive aspects on this transformation. Using examples from the Uzbek and French languages, the article demonstrates that demotivation constitutes an integral stage in the evolution of lexical meaning, reflecting changes in collective linguistic consciousness. The theoretical foundation of the research is based on the works of prominent linguists such as A.A. Potebnya, E.S. Kubryakova, N.D. Arutyunova, W. von Humboldt, and other scholars engaged in the study of motivology and cognitive linguistics.
