Annotatsiya

Architectural education sits at the intersection of art and engineering, and how it is taught shapes how ready graduates are for the profession. Drawing on Dewey (1938), Vygotsky (1978), and Piaget (2001), this paper examines how project-based learning, competency-based education, Design Thinking, group learning, and digital tools — chiefly Building Information Modeling (BIM) — are reshaping architectural teaching. The practical part draws on cases from Coventry University, King Saud University, and Chulalongkorn University. Student-centered teaching combined with digital tools is shown to produce graduates who are better prepared for teamwork, sustainable design, and cross-disciplinary practice than those trained mainly through lectures. The paper closes with practical recommendations for architecture schools.
