PHARMACOLOGICAL MECHANISM OF ACTION OF CARDIOTONIC AGENTS

Annotatsiya
The article examines the pharmacological mechanism of action of cardiotonic agents aimed at increasing the contractile function of the myocardium and improving hemodynamics. The main attention was paid to the ionic mechanism of action of cardiac glycosides associated with the inhibition of sodium-potassium ATPase and subsequent increase in intracellular calcium concentration, which enhances heart contractions. The effects of the drugs on the autonomic nervous system, their positive inotropic effect, and the clinical significance of improving cardiac output are also described. Additionally, current scientific views emphasizing the role of these drugs in regulating cellular metabolism and adapting the myocardium to stress are being discussed. An analytical table systematizing key action mechanisms is presented. The work can be useful for students, clinicians, and researchers in cardiology and pharmacology.
