Annotatsiya
Modern innovative approaches, especially immunotherapy, play an important role in the treatment of nasopharyngeal and throat tumors. This article analyzes the role of immunotherapy in complex treatment and compares the advantages of new therapeutic protocols with traditional chemotherapy and radiotherapy methods. Nasopharyngeal tumors, particularly nasopharyngeal carcinoma, are often associated with the Epstein–Barr virus and are closely related to the immune system. Therefore, immunotherapy is considered a promising direction in the treatment of this disease. Immunotherapy activates the body’s own immune system to fight tumor cells. PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors stimulate T-lymphocytes, leading to the destruction of tumor cells. In combination therapy, a significant improvement in overall survival rates has been observed.
