Annotatsiya

Adolescence is a critical period characterized by the formation of hormonal, psycho-emotional, and reproductive systems. In recent years, sleep deprivation, late bedtimes, excessive use of electronic devices, and academic-related stress have become widespread among adolescent girls. Sleep disturbances and chronic stress negatively affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, leading to hormonal imbalance. As a result, menstrual cycle disorders such as delayed menstruation, irregular cycles, dysmenorrhea, and amenorrhea may develop. This article analyzes the influence of sleep and stress on the menstrual cycle in adolescent girls, their pathophysiological mechanisms, and prevention strategies.
