Diabetic nephropathy is one of the most severe microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus and a leading cause of chronic kidney disease development. The aim of the study was to improve the diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy based on an integrative approach to the assessment of renal function. A retrospective study involving 162 patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus was conducted. All participants underwent comprehensive clinical, laboratory, and instrumental examinations, including blood glucose measurement, HbA1c assessment, serum creatinine and urea determination, evaluation of albuminuria, and ultrasound examination of the kidneys. It was found that the majority of patients demonstrated signs of impaired renal function accompanied by micro- and macroalbuminuria, as well as structural changes in renal tissue. The obtained results confirm the importance of early detection of diabetic nephropathy and the need for a comprehensive assessment of renal functional status for timely initiation of nephroprotective therapy and prevention of chronic renal failure progression.
