This article analyzes the impact of herbicides on soil fertility and ecosystem services. In recent years, the use of herbicides in agriculture has increased, raising concerns about their effects on soil biology. Research findings indicate that herbicides can alter soil pH levels, nutrient cycles, and microbiological activity. Specifically, herbicides such as glyphosate can lower soil pH, negatively affect nitrogen cycling, and modify soil microbial communities. Evaluating the long-term ecological effects of herbicides and developing alternative strategies to mitigate their negative consequences is crucial.
