The article presents the analysis and theoretical interpretations of the scientific works related to the concept theory, and the importance of the conceptual approach in the scientific research carried out within the framework of the anthropocentric paradigm is discussed. The evolution of concept theory in world linguistics, particularly in Russian linguistics, is analyzed on a scientific basis.
