Annotatsiya

This article examines the semantic and pragmatic features of lexical units expressing request in the English and Uzbek languages using a comparative-analytical approach. Within the framework of speech act theory, politeness principles, and linguocultural factors, the lexical composition, functional varieties, and usage strategies of request expressions are analyzed. The study is based on a review of scholarly literature and an independent analysis of linguistic material. As a conclusion, structural and pragmatic similarities and differences between the English and Uzbek languages are identified.
