Annotatsiya

The article examines metaphor as one of the key means of artistic expression in Russian poetry. Special attention is paid to the role of metaphor in shaping poetic imagery and the poetic worldview. Based on theoretical approaches of modern linguistics and literary studies, the functional and semantic features of metaphor, as well as its cognitive and aesthetic potential, are analyzed. The study covers poetic texts from different historical periods, which makes it possible to trace the evolution of metaphorical language and reveal the interaction between tradition and innovation. The research concludes that metaphor has a multifunctional character and plays a crucial role in poetic thinking in Russian poetry.
