Annotatsiya
This study undertakes a rigorous historical, jurisprudential, and hermeneutical analysis of the contributions of Muhammad Amin Ibn Abidin (1784–1836), whose legal oeuvre—most notably Radd al-Muḥtār ‘ala al-Durr al-Mukhtār—represents the apex of post-classical Hanafi scholarship. Positioned at the intersection of declining Ottoman authority, increasing colonial penetration, and internal demands for socio-legal reform, Ibn Abidin’s work offers a nuanced synthesis of classical jurisprudence and emergent socio-political exigencies.
