Annotatsiya

This study investigates the high adhesion properties of road bitumen. Chemical composition, modification, and surface cleanliness affect the adhesion strength of bitumen. The study found that polar aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) make up 25%, playing a significant role in increasing bitumen's adhesion. Modified bitumen with rubber and plasticizers showed adhesion strengths of 2.8 N/mm² and 2.5 N/mm², respectively, significantly higher than the original bitumen (1.2 N/mm²). Surface cleanliness of aggregates also plays a crucial role: bitumen's adhesion strength with clean surfaces is 2.7 N/mm², while with contaminated surfaces, it decreases to 0.8 N/mm². The results demonstrate the effectiveness of chemical modification of bitumen and surface cleaning of aggregates to achieve high adhesion properties.
