Annotatsiya

Migraine and epilepsy are neurological diseases characterized by a number of common features: paroxysmal onset of attacks, normal neurological status in the interictal period, and a positive response to anticonvulsants. Moreover, migraine and epilepsy are comorbid diseases. The prevalence of headaches among patients with epilepsy is 59% [6]. A particularly strong connection was observed between migraine with aura and epilepsy. Most often, patients suffering from epilepsy experience migraine or "migraine-like" headaches (8-26%) [24]. Epilepsy increases the risk of developing migraine by 2.4 times, and migraine increases the risk of developing epilepsy by 4.1 times [28].
