Annotatsiya

The works of Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna) occupy a special place in the history of medicine and pharmacy. A significant portion of the second volume of The Canon of Medicine is dedicated to medicinal substances, their properties, quality, and methods of harvesting, storage, and application. Many provisions formulated by Avicenna regarding the selection of medicinal raw materials, timing of harvesting specific plant parts, and preservation of their quality show marked similarities to the principles of modern pharmacognosy.
