This article presents a comprehensive and original analysis of nouns and their grammatical categories in the English language. It examines nouns not only as lexical units that name people, objects, places, and abstract concepts, but also as grammatical elements shaped by categories such as number, case, gender, definiteness, countability, and animacy. The study discusses how these categories influence the structural behavior of nouns, their syntactic roles, and their interaction with other components of the sentence. Special attention is given to how different languages classify nouns, highlighting the typological diversity and cognitive significance of grammatical categories. Through descriptive and comparative approaches, the article demonstrates that understanding the grammatical categories of nouns is essential for linguistic analysis, language learning, and effective communication, as these categories contribute directly to clarity, coherence, and meaning in speech and writing.
