This review article details the historical aspects of the development of surgical care worldwide, the surgical treatment of such a serious condition as chronic hemorrhoidal disease, and the dynamic development of conservative and surgical treatment methods. It also examines modern surgical treatment methods for chronic hemorrhoidal disease and monitoring of postoperative complications. This article presents an overview of the effectiveness of modern treatment methods for chronic hemorrhoidal disease. This publication presents the main surgical treatment methods and characterizes the positive and negative aspects of each method. A differentiated approach to the treatment of chronic hemorrhoidal disease is also explored. Assessment of quality of life and pain syndrome using questionnaires is also included. Determining the effectiveness of surgical treatment and its impact on patients' quality of life.
