Annotatsiya
This article analyzes the changes implemented in the education system during the Soviet era of the 1920s-1930s and their impact on society, with a focus on the Surkhan region. The Soviet government's educational policy, despite facing national and religious resistance, aimed to reduce illiteracy, establish new Soviet schools, and train personnel based on communist ideology. Relying on historical sources, the article highlights both the positive and negative aspects of the Soviet education system, as well as the social and cultural conflicts among the local population. While the Soviet government’s efforts to eradicate illiteracy laid the foundation for social progress, this process contradicted local traditions and national values.
