COGNITIVE FEATURES OF THE CONCEPT “FAMILY”

One of the forms of ancient concepts that finds vivid and clear expression in language is the institution of the family. It is clearly manifested through linguistic means. Linguistic units related to the family institution are important as a research topic of cognitive linguistics. Systematization of the concept, identification of its main components, and determination of their interrelationships allow for the identification of its cognitive classifiers. It also characterizes its basic level, superordinate and subordinate levels, determining its national identity and its international universality. These linguistic units are clearly manifested in hierarchical relations within the concept of family. In this article, linguistic units within the concept of "family" are investigated in the analysis of cognitive features, which are important in enriching the national and conceptual image of the world.
