This article examines the conceptual foundations of the historical development of Karakalpak art and literature through the lens of syncretism and evolutionary transformation. The research explores the journey of Karakalpak creative thought from archaic mythological roots and oral epic traditions to the formation of professional artistic genres. Special attention is given to the "syncretic nature" of the Zhyrau (epic storytelling) school, where the unity of word, music (the kobyz instrument), and performance served as an "aesthetic code" for subsequent generations. Thestudy analyzes how traditional motifs in epics like "Alpamys" and "Kyrk Kyz" were reimagined during the 19th-century classical period by thinkers such as Berdakh and Ajiniyaz, eventually laying the groundwork for modern professional drama, prose, and musical arts. By employing historical-typological and comparative methods, the author argues that the preservation of national identity in the era of globalization depends on the synthesis of traditional folklore patterns with contemporary professional artistic forms.
