SYNTHESIS OF WATER-SOLUBLE ARTEMISININ DERIVATIVES USED IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
Abdulloev, Obidjon Sh., Matamirova, Sharifa A.
Annotatsiya
Artemisinin is a sesquiterpene peroxylactone isolated from the wormwood plant (Artemisia annua L.), which has been used in traditional medicine since ancient times, and its various derivatives have been synthesized mainly due to its high activity against the malaria virus. However, due to the fact that derivatives such as artemether and arteeter are poorly soluble in water, some difficulties arise in their use. On the basis of artesunate and its salts containing a carboxyl group and highly soluble in water, many drugs have been created. This article presents the results of studies on the synthesis of dihydroartemisinin and artesunate from artemisinin.
