In this paper the study of the synthesis of a new [Co(BPK)2(H2O)4]*H2O complex based on the benzoxazine-2-thione propionic acid (BPK) and cobalt (II) ion. The composition, molecular, and crystal structures of the synthesized metal complex were determined by X-ray structural analysis (RSA). According to the RSA results, two BPK ligands bind to the cobalt (II) cation in the monodentate state and four water molecules also bind to the cobalt (II) cation in the monodentate state, forming an octahedral aqua complex. In addition, the outer coordination sphere in the asymmetric unit contains one water molecule. Based on the IR-spectrum and RSA data of the synthesized metallocomplex, intermolecular interaction energies, and Hirschfeld surface analysis were also studied.
