OPTIMIZATION OF ANTI-EDEMA THERAPY IN SEVERE TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

Neuroinflammation and cerebral edema are central mechanisms in the pathophysiology of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). This study evaluated the effectiveness of adding Paracetamol infusion to standard therapy in patients with severe TBI. A total of 40 patients were enrolled, divided into control and main groups. In the main group, significant reductions in pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α) and an increase in the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 were observed, alongside improvements in Glasgow Coma Scale scores and reduced cerebral edema volume on CT scans. The multimodal approach incorporating Paracetamol infusion demonstrated promising potential for controlling neuroinflammation and accelerating recovery in severe TBI patients.
