Spiritual education in Central Asian thought: The example of Abu Hafs al-Kabir

The article examines the formation of spiritual education and its practical manifestations in the philosophical heritage of Central Asia. The study focuses on the activities of Abu Hafs al-Kabir, analyzing his educational and philosophical approach, which guided students not only toward intellectual development but also moral and spiritual maturity. The article highlights the educational role of the family, the teacher-student relationship, and the role of the madrasa system in spiritual perfection. Additionally, the spiritual-philosophical approach of Sufi orders is briefly analyzed, demonstrating its integration with Islamic law in shaping spiritual education. The research results indicate that Central Asian philosophical traditions regard the family as a spiritual school and emphasize its significance as an institutional space uniting intellectual, moral, and spiritual development. This heritage can be practically applied in contemporary educational and upbringing processes.
