SARTREAN HUMANISM AS AN IMPERATIVE FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF CULTURAL IDEALS IN AFRICA
Michael Olatunji Oni
Annotatsiya
The existential-humanistic ideas of Jean-Paul Sartre Sartre are significant because they interpret human freedom, personal responsibility, and human dignity as supreme values. Furthermore, his view of the individual as an active subject capable of determining his or her own destiny may encourage processes of social development and spiritual awakening in African states. However, insufficient attention to the existential essence of the human being in contemporary development concepts has resulted in the persistence of social inequality, dependency, and crises within society. Therefore, the main objective of this article is to reveal the philosophical significance of Sartrean humanism in the development and social transformation of Africa.
