This article presents a mathematical model for simulating airflow and pollutant dispersion in complex urban geometries, such as street canyons. The model incorporates the advection-diffusion equation to describe the dynamics of pollutant concentration, along with the Navier–Stokes equations to calculate airflow velocity and pressure distribution. Initial and boundary conditions are adapted to real-world scenarios using wind data from sources such as OpenWeatherMap. Complex geometries, including buildings and narrow corridors, significantly affect turbulence, airflow patterns, and pollutant accumulation. Numerical methods such as finite difference or finite element methods are employed to solve the equations, addressing challenges associated with irregular spatial discretization. The model demonstrates how geometric factors-particularly the height-to-width ratio of street canyons-influence the dispersion of pollutants.
