This article presents an analysis of various types of batteries to provide backup power supply for alarm, interlocking and communication systems on the railways of Uzbekistan. Taking into account the climatic features of the region, such as high summer and low winter temperatures, the most suitable type of battery for stable and long-term operation has been selected. Using the method of multicriteria analysis, the study examined three main types of batteries: lithium-ion (Li-ion), lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) and nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd). Based on mathematical calculations of the dependence of capacity on temperature and analysis of indicators of service life, environmental safety and resistance to deep discharges, it was concluded that lithium-iron-phosphate batteries (LiFePO₄) are the optimal choice for use in Uzbekistan.
