This work is devoted to the problem of contour line separation, which is of great importance in image analysis, and its main goal is to eliminate some shortcomings of classical gradient operators. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the existing operators do not have the same sensitivity in all directions in detecting intensity changes, which leads to certain errors in contour separation. To solve this problem, new trigonometric gradient operators are proposed in this work. The kernels of these operators are formed according to the values of the sine and cosine functions, taking into account the directions from the central pixel to neighboring pixels. in the case of, that is, by examining the 3×3 neighborhood of each pixel, eight directions were considered, calculated for each direction by the angle formula , Gx and Gy on this basis and kernels were proposed. It is shown that the proposed trigonometric gradient operators can be used as an alternative to traditional methods.
