In this article, a contemporary approach to designing a train movement control system for railway line segments leveraging fiber optic data transmission and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology is examined. We propose an interaction architecture between stations and signaling nodes that enables transmission of block section status and semaphore signal indications over a single optical link without mutual interference. The operational principles of microcontrollers, inductive sensors, multiplexers/demultiplexers, and the real time locomotive signal transmission subsystem are described in detail. The solutions presented herein enhance the safety, efficiency, and level of automation in railway traffic management.
