This article examines the pedagogical conditions for developing adaptive design competence in future engineers using generative artificial intelligence technologies. The study analyzes digital transformation processes in modern engineering education, the pedagogical potential of generative AI, and their practical applications. The article discusses the components of adaptive design competence and ways to ensure methodological, technological, and organizational aspects of educational conditions. As a result of the research, a comprehensive approach is proposed for the effective integration of generative AI tools into the educational process.
