The article scientifically and theoretically analyzes the experience of domestic and foreign countries, which are responsible for crimes related to illicit trafficking in weapons of mass destruction, which are part of a crime of a terrorist nature. The legal documents of foreign countries concerning crimes related to illicit trafficking in weapons of mass destruction, as well as the opinions of scientists-experts in the field of criminal law, have been studied. In the article, based on the results of the analysis of foreign experience, proposals are made to improve the norms of the criminal law that determine responsibility for crimes related to illicit trafficking in weapons of mass destruction.
