THE HISTORY OF THE ISMAIL SAMANI MAUSOLEUM

Abstract

The article discusses the history of the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, built during the reign of the Samanid dynasty. The research findings are analyzed, stating that several generations of the Samanids were buried here. Furthermore, the article is enriched with the conclusions of a comparative study on the origin (genesis) of the mausoleum with the Qubbat al-Sulaibiya (or Qubbat al-Khulafa) mausoleum in Iraq. Information regarding the mausoleum s waqfnama (deed of endowment) is also provided.
