SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF TERMS IN ARABIC LINGUISTICS

Annotatsiya
This article examines the formation and historical development of terminology in Arabic linguistics within its scientific and cultural context. Special attention is given to the role of terminology as an essential component of applied and theoretical linguistics, particularly in relation to morphology (sarf) and syntax (nahw). The study highlights the importance of understanding terminological structures, semantic precision, and the elimination of ambiguity in linguistic research. Furthermore, the article explores the emergence of early Arabic terms through the Qur an and Islamic sciences, emphasizing the transformation of lexical meanings into specialized religious and scientific concepts. Various methods of term formation in arabic—such as derivation, analogy, metaphor, arabization, compounding, and lexical generation— are analyzed as key mechanisms in the expansion of scientific vocabulary.
