AN INNOVATIVE MODEL FOR DEVELOPING MEDIA LITERACY COMPETENCE BASED ON THE CRITICAL EVALUATION OF INFORMATION

Annotatsiya
This article presents an innovative four-component model for developing students’ media literacy competence based on the critical evaluation of information. The model was designed based on five methodological principles, with each component consistently linked to three previously substantiated groups of conditions and Fedorov’s seven-indicator model of media competence. The goal-oriented component is operationalized through cognitive, practical, personal, and social dimensions, each expressed as a clearly measurable outcome. The model was implemented through the CritiLearn digital learning platform, and its effectiveness was statistically validated through an experimental study conducted at three higher education institutions. The findings demonstrate that the interrelationship among the model components and their integration with the system of pedagogical conditions ensured both the theoretical validity and the practical effectiveness of the proposed model.
