CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO THE STAGES OF COMMITTING A CRIME IN CRIMINAL LAW DOCTRINE

The study of the stages of committing a crime is one of the key issues in criminal law, as these stages reflect the dynamics of criminal behavior and allow us to determine the point at which a person’s actions become socially dangerous, as well as to assess the degree of completion of the criminal act. Within the framework of criminal law doctrine, various approaches have been developed to define the boundaries and content of such stages as preparation, attempt, and completion of a crime. These conceptual approaches not only reflect theoretical views on the nature of criminal behavior but also have a significant impact on law enforcement practice. Different legal systems and academic schools vary in their understanding of which actions should be classified as criminal from the early stages of preparation, and how to differentiate the punish ability at different stages. This study focuses on analyzing these theoretical approaches and their evolution in criminal law. It also explores how these concepts are reflected in legislation and judicial practice, which is crucial for improving the effectiveness of crime prevention and ensuring fair justice. The aim of this study is to systematize existing concepts of the stages of committing a crime, to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and to analyze their significance for the practical qualification of acts.
