CIVIL LAW BASIS FOR COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY AUTONOMOUS (DRIVERLESS) VEHICLES

The article discusses the civil-legal foundations of compensation for damage caused by autonomous (driverless) vehicles. It is argued that the current presence of driverless vehicles on the roads requires legal regulation of relations in the transport sector and the establishment of legal liability. It is shown that, on the one hand, the use of driverless vehicles is regulated by civil law, and on the other hand, violation of the norms and rules for their use is a cause for criminal and administrative liability. At the same time, the opinions of domestic and foreign scholars on compensation for damage caused by driverless vehicles are analyzed.
