THEORY OF LEXICAl UNITS OF TRANSLATION IN MODERN TRANSLATION STUDIES

From the very beginning of the science of translation studies to the present time, many schools of translation, literary books, terms and specific terms have arisen that directly cover the secrets of this science. One of these terms is the term “translation unit”. This article discusses a term that emerged in translation research. According to the definition given to this term by various translators and specialists, in translation studies a phoneme, a morpheme, a word, a word phrase and a text can be used as a translation unit. The article discusses the lexical unit of translation; the author quotes the views and opinions of various scientists, translators and linguists on this unit and expresses his views on this unit. There are also examples of lexical translation units.
